Let it Snow
From: Let it Snow (1950)
Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!" is written by lyricist
Sammy Cahn and composer Jule Styne and was first recorded
by Vaughn Monroe with the Norton Sisters in 1945. It topped
the Billboard music chart for five weeks in early 1946. Despite
the lyrics making no mention of any holiday, the song has come
to be regarded as a Christmas song worldwide due to its winter
theme. Later in 1950 American singer, Frank Sinatra released
a version as a single. Since then we recognize let it snow by
Sinatra better.
With his golden voice and smooth style, Frank Sinatra crooned
to audiences all over the world. Sinatra is considered one of the
most popular entertainers of the 1940s, 1950s, and 1960s. He
is among the world's best-selling music artists, having sold an
estimated 150 million records. His main genre is best classified
as “traditional pop” or “classic pop.” However, his songs also
straddled between “easy listening,” jazz, swing, and big-band.
