Someone we miss - Maruti Suzuki
Kizashi Maruti had its foot jammed in the tiny car entryway for a long
time in 2011. They introduced the new Kizashi, confirming the
company's entry into the premium car market. Sitting on those
massive 17-inch wheels, the Kizashi looked rather spectacular
in person, and it gave the saloon a lot of attitude. Though the
Kizashi's design was clearly Suzuki, it had its own personality.
This was Suzuki's most expensive and ambitious sedan project
to date, having been built from the ground up. This is India's
first "luxury sport" sedan, smaller in size and (somewhat)
cheaper, aimed at self-driving professionals who want the thrill
of sporty handling with opulent amenities and comfy seating
for their family.
The grille came with a honeycomb pattern, and the double
barrel headlights offer a splash of colour. From the side, the
Kizashi appeared to be a well-proportioned saloon with a
dynamic aspect. The C pillar flows all the way down to the
clever tail lamps in the back, which is very nice. The chromeplated quadruple exhaust pipes were also a great touch.
The inside of the saloon were of decent quality, with only a few
plastics that were not up to par. The retro-looking dials with
chrome rings and the flat integrated central console appealed
to us. Splashes of chrome liven up the otherwise unremarkable
cabin. The Kizashi was only offered in one trim level, which
included smart leather upholstery, a multi-function steering
wheel, cruise control, push-button start, dual-zone automatic
climate control, CD/MP3 player with USB port, adjustable
power seats, rear seat armrest, and a 60:40 split rear seat.
