 8 Media, common man’s source of information has lost its touch of integrity. It focuses on what the government wants to show rather than what the people need to know. We, living in a democracy, that too world’s biggest with our freedom of speech and expression are scared of sedition and imprisonment to speak the truth. The people were never afraid to raise a voice because the media along with them would amplify the right voice and reach the masses. Well, it is not the case anymore and those still try are penalised if not imprisoned under sedition.
As a result, the media focuses more on Aryan Khan that the Lakhimpur Kheri violence. Was Aryan Khan raid a consequence of the Lakhimpur violence ? Well, asking that question will get you under the sedition watch. Asking it to the right person will get you imprisonment. The courts have been keeping a watch on the matter, but justice takes time and those who fall prey for asking the right questions suffer. Well, it is a democracy, you can not be stopped from asking questions but the questions can be deemed anti-national. The constitution has the provision to do so. You can prove you are not anti-national but sometimes you will have to go the extent of proving a negative. You will have to prove you are a patriot. You have to prove that asking questions makes you a patriot. Until then, you might have to stay imprisoned because you asked it to the right person.
